Kinesin Inhibitors

Kinesin inhibitors are compounds designed to target kinesin motor proteins, which play a crucial role in intracellular transport by moving along microtubules to transport organelles, vesicles, and other cellular cargo. These inhibitors work by binding to kinesin and interfering with its ATPase activity or disrupting its interaction with microtubules, thereby inhibiting the transport function of kinesin. By blocking kinesin-mediated transport, these inhibitors can disrupt essential cellular processes and have potential therapeutic applications in diseases where aberrant kinesin activity contributes to pathogenesis, such as neurodegenerative disorders and certain types of cancer.
