PAK inhibitors

PAK (p21-activated kinase) inhibitors are a class of compounds that target the PAK family of serine/threonine protein kinases, which are key regulators of various cellular processes including cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, proliferation, and survival. PAKs are downstream effectors of small GTPases such as Rac and Cdc42, and their dysregulation is implicated in diseases such as cancer, neurological disorders, and immune-related diseases. PAK inhibitors work by binding to the ATP-binding site of PAK enzymes or by disrupting protein-protein interactions critical for PAK activation and function. By inhibiting PAK activity, these inhibitors can modulate signaling pathways involved in cell growth and migration, potentially suppressing tumor cell proliferation or invasive behavior in cancer therapy or addressing aberrant immune responses.
