Xian-Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd., founded in 1985, now is one of China's largest pharmaceutical joint-venture and Johnson & Johnson's largest branch on the Mainland with offices in 28 cities; together employing more than 3,000 people. Its production facilities are located in Xi'an, It covers 170 acres and has 35,620 square meters of floor space with 52% of the site given over to green areas. The facility's major buildings include preparation workshops, administrative offices, a staff restaurant, power supply and even its own sewage treatment center.

The company produces and markets high-quality products and biologics in the areas of gastrointestinal disease, neurology, psychiatry, immunology, pain control, infectious disease, and oncology. The company is also committed to providing health services and developing public health education. The products range from tablet dosage, capsules and cream agents to liquids, suppositories and powders. The factory also makes packaging types including pipes, bottles and aluminum-plastic bags. Currently, Xian-Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd. is involved in the production and sales on more than 30 prescription and non-prescription drugs, including Remicade, Sporanox® IV, Durogesic®, Risperidal Consta® and Risperdal® (CAS NO.106266-06-2). Non-prescription drugs such as Motilium®, Daktarin® cream, gyno Daktarin®, Pevisone®, Triatop®, Titanoreine® are all widely recognized as essential parts of every family's medicine cabinet.

Both the production and management of the Xian-Janssen meets the standards of GMP in both China and Europe, as well as meets all the requirements laid down by ISO 9001: 2000 quality management system of International Standards Organization, the ISO 14001 environmental management system, and the requirements of OHSAS Occupational Safety and Health Management System, which enable the factory to better communicate both production delivery and service abroad. Xian-Janssen has also brought in the SAP system for strategic and operational management. In 1997, the Xian facility passed the national GMP certification on drugs. In 1999, it won the ISO9002 quality management system certification by the German Rhine Company. In 2003, it completed ISO9001: 2000 certification upgrade. In October of 2004 and September of 2007, Xian-Janssen - factory passed both the first audition and re-examination by EU GMP Audit Bureau, indicating that its plant, equipment, environment, personnel, documentation system and quality management system are in full compliance with European GMP standards, which ensures its advancement and internationalization in the field of medicine. Xian-Janssen has also established an inter-departmental collaboration center – the Customer Care Center (CCC). It operates a 24-hour hotline.
