Changmao Biochemical Engineering Company Limited was established in the end of 1992. In 1998, the Company and Chinese Academy of Sciences Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry co-established "Jiangsu Biochemical Chirotechnology Research Center" ---the first biochemical chirotechnology research and development centre established in the PRC. In 2002, the company was listed in HK Growth Enterprise Market. The Company has obtained many awards such as the First Class Award of State Science and Technology advancement, DuPont Innovation Award. The Company is also certified Jiangsu Hi-tech Enterprise, Jiangsu Foreign Investment Advanced Technology Enterprise and Technology-intensive and Knowledge-intensive Enterprise. The Company has passed ISO 9001:2000 quality management system.

The company specializes in manufacturing and selling C-4 series organic acids and chiral products. The main products are L-Malic acid (97-67-6), DL-Malic acid (617-48-1), L(+)-Tartaric acid (87-69-4), L-Aspartic acid (56-84-8), Fumaric acid (110-17-8), Maleic acid (110-16-7) and other organic acids. Annual productivity amounts to 20,000 tonnes. The products have been certified as the National New Products and Provincial Hi-tech New Products. All the products of the Company have respectively met the different international advanced standards such as Food Chemicals Codex, U.S. Pharmacopoeia, British Pharmacopoeia, and the products have obtained Star-K Kosher Certificate. Above 70% of the Company's products are exported to Japan, Europe, Australia, the United States and Middle East.

The Company will devote itself to research and development of chirotechnology, enzyme technology and organic elechtrochemistry. It will continuously introduce new food additives, chiral pharmaceutical intermediates, chiral auxilliaries and chiral drugs.
