Derivation:
β-naphthylamine sulfate is sulfonated with 66% oleum; the precipitate, 2-naphthylamine-6,8-disulfonic acid, is heated with 65% sodium hydroxide solution at 210C and 210 psi.
Use:
Azo dye intermediate.
