Derivation:
By heating aluminum hydroxide and palmitic acid and water. The resultant mixture is filtered and dried.
Use:
Waterproofing leather, paper, textiles; thickening for lubricating oils; thickening or suspending agent in paints and inks; production of high gloss on leather and paper; ingredient of varnishes; lubricant for plastics; food additive.
