    Sticky, viscous, balsamic liquid comprising a mixture of rosin and turpentine oil; strong, piney odor. Soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform, and glacial acetic acid. Combustible.
     
    Use:
    Source of turpentine oil and gum rosin.See Rosin.
