The Dimethicone with CAS registry number of 9006-65-9 is also known as Polydimethylsiloxane. The systematic name is Dimethylpolysiloxane. It belongs to classification codes of Lubricant and Hydrophobing Agent; Lubricant and hydrophobing agent. In addition, the formula is C3H9OSi.(C2H6OSi)n.C3H9Si. This chemical is a colourless to slightly yellow liquid. When using it, avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Uses of Dimethicone. This chemical is commonly used as a stamp resin in the procedure of soft lithography. It is used variously in the cosmetic and consumer product industry as well. Dimethicone is also used in analytical chemistry as a component of some types of SPME fibers. What's more, it has been used in the aerospace industry as a heat tile on reentry vehicles. As we all known, it can be used as a component in silicone grease or other silicone based lubricants and used in over-the-counter drug as an anti-foaming agent and carminative and so on.
