The Disperse Red 50 is purple powder. It is a kind of dye. It can be used for dyeing polyester fabric and direct printing, which get red with a little yellow, good levelness and fastness, and stability to acid and alkali. It also can be used as the primary colors. Viscosity can also be dyed.

The Disperse Red 50 can be obtained by 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline and N-ethyl-N-cyanoethyl aniline as the raw material. First, using 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline diazotization, and then coupling with N-ethyl-N-cyanoethyl aniline to get the product. After filtration, grinding and drying, the end product was finished.

The other characteristics of this product can be summarized as: (1)H bond acceptors: 7 ; (2)H bond donors: 0 ; (3)Freely Rotating Bonds: 7 ; (4)Index of Refraction: 1.616 ; (5)Molar Refractivity: 97.85 cm3 ; (6)Molar Volume: 280 cm3 ; (7)Polarizability: 38.79×10-24 cm3 ; (8)Surface Tension: 51.1 dyne/cm ; (9) Enthalpy of Vaporization: 86.69 kJ/mol ; (10) Vapour Pressure: 2.02E-13 mmHg at 25 °C.
