Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by diazoacetic acid ethyl ester and methanol. This reaction will need catalytic agent [Pt2(m-Cl)2(PPh3)4][BF4]2 and solvent CH2Cl2. The reaction time is 4 hours with reaction temperature of 25 °C.
Uses of 2-Methoxy ethyl acetate: it can be used to produce 2-methoxyacetyl-1,3-dithiane at temperature of -78 °C. This reaction will need reagent butyl lithium and solvent tetrahydrofuran with reaction time of 2 hours. The yield is about 100%.
