Biscyclopentadienylchlorozirconium enolates derived from S-tert-butyl alkanethioates condensed with the imine 1 in a syn selective manner, while the diethylaluminum enolates derived from S-tert-butyl propanethioate and S-tert-butyl butanethioate reacted 1 in an anti selective manner.
