Conclusion
In summary, we have developed a novel, simple, compatible
one-pot redox-driven deracemization of secondary benzylic alco-
hols by sequential ether/O2-promoted non-selective oxidation
and ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. This
transformation is applicable for a wide range of benzylic alcohols
and has a great potential for practical application in drug synthesis
and natural products modification.
