Isosalvianolic acid C, a new depside possessing a dibenzooxepine skeleton, was isolated from the aqueous extract of Salvia chinensis along with salvianolic acid B and D, lithospermic acid, rosmarinic acid, (R)-(+)-β-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)lactic acid, caffeic acid and protocatechualdehyde.
