The reactions between SnCl2 and [Ph2P(S)S]2, Ph2P(S)SH and Ph2PS2NH4, respectively, were investigated by multinuclear (1H, 13C, 31P, 119Sn) NMR spectroscopy and the results are discussed. The previously reported cis-dichlorobis(diphenyldithiophosphinato)tin(IV) was isolated as Cl2Sn(S2PPh2)2·0.5(CH 3)2CO and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffractometry. The dithiophosphinato groups are isobidentate coordinated [P(1) - S(1) 2.044(2), P(1) - S(2) 2.021(2) A] through both sulfur atoms [Sn - S(1) 2.530(1), Sn - S(2) 2.596(2) A]. The chlorine atoms are in cis positions [Cl - Sn - Cl(a) 92.8(1)°] in a distorted octahedral tin complex. Copyright
