The complex trans-Pt2(NCPh)2 (1) has been prepared, and its structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods.It is the first example of a structurally characterized mixed trinuclear Pt-Fe complex in which a linear metal chain is present (Pt-Fe 2.657 (2) Angstroem).
