Reaction of hydroquinones with supported oxidizing reagents in solvent- free conditions

Supported MnO₂ or HNO₃ on bentonitic clay cleanly oxidize some hydroquinones under infrared or microwave irradiation to the corresponding quinones with excellent conversion in short reaction times, using an easy and solvent-free approach.
