p-Toluenesulfonic acid catalyzed hypervalent oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides

Sulfoxides can be obtained in excellent yields via iodosobenzene oxidation of sulfides in the presence of catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid in acetonitrile under mild conditions.
