A practical preparation of thiol carboxylic esters of 2-(isoxazolyl) acetic acids

High yields of several thiolesters of 2-[3-(4-cyanophenyl)-4,5-dihydro- 5-isoxazolyl]acetic acid are easily prepared from the corresponding oxoester by the reaction with trimethylsilylated mercaptan and aluminum chloride. The selection of mercaptans expands the previous scope of this synthetic method.
