Machette Uses

 Butachlor is a pre-emergent chloroacetanalide herbicide. Butachlor is commonly used for weed control in rice as well as cotton, maize, wheat and other crops.

Machette Specification

The IUPAC name of Butachlor is N-(butoxymethyl)-2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl)acetamide. With the CAS registry number 23184-66-9, it is also named as Acetamide, N-(butoxymethyl)-2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl)-. The product's categories are Agro-Chemicals; Herbicide; A-BAlphabetic; BI - BZ; Pesticides & Metabolites. Preparation of Butachlor: First, we can get N-methylene 2,6-diethylaniline by paraformaldehyde and DEA. And then, reacting with chloroacetyl chloride to get N-(2,6-diethyl-phenyl)-N-chloromethyl chloroacetamide. At last, reacting with n-butanol to get the product.

Uses of Butachlor: It is a kind of selective preemergenceherbicide which is used for the control of barnyard grass in rice.
