Neon Specification

The IUPAC name of this chemical is neon. With the CAS registry number 7440-01-9, it is also named as Neon, compressed; Neon, refrigerated liquid (cryogenic liquid). The product's categories are refrigerants; inorganics; chemical synthesis; compressed and liquefied gases; synthetic reagents. It is a colorless, inert noble gas under standard conditions, neon gives a distinct reddish-orange glow when used in discharge tubes and neon lamps and advertising signs. This chemical is nonflammable, noncombustible and nontoxic. It can asphyxiate, so in case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. In addition, it is commercially extracted from air, in which it is found in trace amounts. Containers may explode when heated.

The other characteristics of this product can be summarized as: (1)ACD/LogP: 0.28; (2)# of Rule of 5 Violations: 0; (3)ACD/LogD (pH 5.5): 0.28; (4)ACD/LogD (pH 7.4): 0.28; (5)ACD/BCF (pH 5.5): 1; (6)ACD/BCF (pH 7.4): 1; (7)Exact Mass: 19.99244; (8)MonoIsotopic Mass: 19.99244; (9)Heavy Atom Count: 1; (10)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 1.

Preparation of Neon: Air separation method using segregation law: Extract crude helium and neon mixture from the air separation plant. Coarse helium, neon gas mixture by eliminating hydrogen and nitrogen, purity pure helium neon gas mixture was obtainied more than 99.95%, after separation and purification, 99.99% of high-purity Neon can be obtained.

Uses of Neon: It is mainly used in neon lights, and as Packing Media in electronics industry (such as high-voltage neon, counting tubes, etc.), but also for laser technology and be applied in high energy physics. For example, bubble chamber using of liquid neon. Neon is often used in signs and produces an unmistakable bright reddish-orange light. Although still referred to as "neon", all other colors are generated with the other noble gases or by many colors of fluorescent lighting. Neon is used in vacuum tubes, high-voltage indicators, lightning arrestors, wave meter tubes, television tubes, and helium-neon lasers. Liquefied neon is commercially used as a cryogenic refrigerant in applications not requiring the lower temperature range attainable with more extreme liquid helium refrigeration.

People can use the following data to convert to the molecule structure.
1. SMILES: [Ne];
2. InChI: InChI=1/Ne.
