Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by piperidine, 3-acetoxy-propene at the temperature of 65 °C. This reaction will need reagent PPh3 and solvent tetrahydrofuran with the reaction time of 0.5 hour. This reaction will also need catalyst Pd/polystyrene. The yield is about 84%.

Uses of Piperidine,1-(2-propen-1-yl)-: it can be used to produce 4-chloro-2-piperidin-1-yl-quinazoline at the temperature of 100 °C. It will need reagent POCl3, NPr3 and solvent dioxane with the reaction time of 1 hour. The yield is about 56%.
