It is chemically described as 5-benzoyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolizine-1-carboxylic acid in its (S)-configuration and is also referred to as (-)-Ketorolac or S-(-)-Ketorolac. This enantiomer is synthesized through an enantioselective intramolecular coupling of pyrroles with carbonyl compounds, highlighting its significance as a therapeutically active form of the drug.
