  • Description Hydrazine, anhydrous appears as a colorless, fuming oily liquid with an ammonia-like odor. Flash point 99°F. Explodes during distillation if traces of air are present. Toxic by inhalation and by skin absorption. Corrosive to tissue. Produces toxic oxides of nitrogen during combustion.
  • Uses Acetohydrazide is a metabolite of Isoniazid (I821450) an antibiotic for treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, inhibits mycolic acid biosynthesis. Acetic hydrazide is used as an antibiotic for the treatment of mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is also involved in the preparation of sunitinib b reacting with 5-fluoroisatin. Further, it inhibits mycolic acid biosynthesis. It serves as an important intermediate in organic synthesis such as nitric furosemide Long (nifuratrone) in medicine. Acethydrazide can be used in the synthesis of (E)-N′-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)acetohydrazide, an ONO pincer ligand.
