Ruthenium dioxide Specification

The Ruthenium dioxide, with the CAS registry number 12036-10-1 and EINECS registry number 234-840-6, has the systematic name of dioxoruthenium. And the molecular formula of this chemical is O2Ru. It is a kind of dark blue/black powder, and belongs to product category of Inorganics. It is hygroscopic, and insoluble in water.

The physical properties of Ruthenium dioxide are as following: (1)#H bond acceptors: 2; (2)#H bond donors: 0; (3)#Freely Rotating Bonds: 0; (4)Polar Surface Area: 34.14 Å2.

Preparation of Ruthenium dioxide: There are various ways in preparing Ruthenium dioxid. For example, the pyrolysis, or heating of ruthenium halides, suitably deposited on the substrate by spraying on the heated substrate a solution of the halide.

Uses of Ruthenium dioxide: It is a versatile catalyst and doping agent. It is extensively used for the coating of titanium anodes for the electrolytic production of chlorine and for the preparation of resistors or integrated circuits. What's more, it used as the main component in the catalyst of the Deacon process which produces chlorine by the oxidation of hydrogen chloride. It can be used as active material in supercapacitor.

You should be cautious while dealing with this chemical. It irritates eyes, respiratory system and skin. Therefore, you had better take the following instructions: Wear suitable protective clothing and eye/face protection, and in case of contacting with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

You can still convert the following datas into molecular structure:
(1)SMILES: O=[Ru]=O
(2)InChI: InChI=1/2O.Ru/rO2Ru/c1-3-2
(3)InChIKey: WOCIAKWEIIZHES-XRMXITJEAE
