Uses of Serotonin hydrochloride: It can react with fluoroacetic acid to get 2-fluoro-N-[2-(5-hydroxy-1H-indol-3-yl)-ethyl]-acetamide. This reaction needs reagent DCC and solvents H₂O, tetrahydrofuran at ambient temperature. The yield is 71.5%.
