The Subtilisin, with the CAS registry number 9014-01-1,is also known as Bacillopeptidase A. It belongs to the product categories of Hydrolases;Specialty Enzymes.Its EINECS number is 232-752-2. What's more,Its systematic name is Subtilisin.It is a serine endopeptidase isolated from Bacillus subtilis. It hydrolyzes proteins with broad specificity for peptide bonds, and a preference for a large uncharged residue in P1. It also hydrolyzes peptide amides. (From Enzyme Nomenclature, 1992) EC 3.4.21.62.It can be produced by submerged fermentation of Bacillus licheniformis (Baeillus licheni formis).

Uses of Subtilisin:
The Subtilisin can be used as proteolytic enzymes.And it is mainly used for gelatin production, and can significantly reduce the extraction time. It is also used in vegetable protein, animal protein and fish protein hydrolysis.Besides,a commercial raw proteolytic enzyme used in laundry detergents.
