Ketimines

A ketimine is a functional group in organic chemistry that consists of a carbonyl (C=O) bonded to an imine (C=N) group. The α-branched ketimine, in this context, refers to a ketimine in which the carbon atom bonded to the nitrogen (α-carbon) is part of a branched alkyl group. The presence of branching can make these compounds challenging to work with due to potential steric hindrance.
