Ergonovine maleate (CAS NO.129-51-1) is used in chemical reagents, organic intermediates, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical research and development.
A deadly human poison. Experimental poison by intravenous route. Experimental reproductive effects. Human systemic effects: hypermotility, diarrhea, cyanosis, thirst, tachycardia, confusion, coma, central nervous system symptoms, gangrene; circulatory changes can follow ingestion. Questionable carcinogen with experimental tumorigenic data. Mutation data reported. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx. See also individual components.
