It can also be used to control rice stem borer, yellow rice borer, leaf roller, rice bud worms, leafhoppers, thrips, pests such as Pieris rapae
Cyanophos (CAS NO.2636-26-2) can be O, O-dimethyl sulfur chloride by phosphate and cyano-phenol reaction. In the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate, it can be O, O-2-methyl thiophosphoryl chloride with the reaction of hydroxyl nitrile. It also can be p-nitrile from 4 - hydroxybenzoic acid and urea, phosphorus pentasulfide reaction.
