Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by prop-2-yn-1-ol and 3-iodo-anisole at the temperature of 25 °C. This reaction will need reagents Et3N, pyridine, Ph3P, CuI with the reaction time of 14 hours. This reaction will also need catalyst (Ph3P)2PdCl2. The yield is about 56%.

2-Propyn-1-ol,3-(3-methoxyphenyl)- can be prepared by prop-2-yn-1-ol and 3-iodo-anisole at the temperature of 25 °C

Uses of 2-Propyn-1-ol,3-(3-methoxyphenyl)-: it can be used to produce 3-ethynyl-anisole. It will need reagents MnO2, KOH and solvent benzene with the reaction time of 20 min. The yield is about 55%.
