The invention discloses a method for synthesizing 2-methyl triethylene diamine by catalyzing ethylenimine, and aims at solving the problems of more synthesis steps and low product selectivity of the existing method. The method is applied to the reaction for synthesizing 2-methyl triethylene diamine from ethylenimine and 2-methyl piperazine taken as the raw materials and Pentasil zeolite taken as the catalyst through one-step catalysis and the method has the advantages of less synthesis steps and high product selectivity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable production method for a bicyclic amine compound that inhibits the generation of by-products in the production of a bicyclic amine. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for producing a bicyclic amine compound which employs a catalyst comprising an inorganic support and an alkali metal phosphate, and further comprising alkaline earth metal hydroxide and/or hydroxyapatite in an amount of 1.5 wt.% or more and less than 15 wt.% relative to the inorganic support.
