Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 10049-05-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,0,0,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 10049-05:
(7*1)+(6*0)+(5*0)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*5)=55
55 % 10 = 5
So 10049-05-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ogden, J. Steven,Wyatt, Robert S.

, p. 859 - 866 (2007/10/02)

Mass spectrometric and matrix isolation i.r. studies on the vaporisation of solid chromium(III) chloride over the temperature range 550-800 deg C reveal three different molecular chromium halides. At the lowest temperatures, CrCl4 is identified as the most volatile species and its tetrahedral structure confirmed by isotope patterns. At ca. 600 deg C, a new molecular species, CrCl3, appears and its structure is similarly shown to be planar (D3h).Further heating to ca. 780 deg C results in the formation of molecular CrCl2.The results are discussed in the light of previous studies on transition metal halide systems.
