Disclosed are phenylpropionic acid compounds containing a pyrazine ring. The phenylpropionic acid compounds are represented as a general formula (I), wherein each group is defined as described in thespecification. The compounds are a novel GPR40 agonist, can be used in treating diabetes mellitus and glucose and lipid metabolism disorder, especially type II diabetes mellitus.
