General Description

4,4-dimethoxytetrahydro-2H-pyran-3-ol, also known as DMPY-3-ol, is a chemical compound with a molecular formula C8H16O4. It is a type of tetrahydropyran, which is a six-membered heterocyclic ether. 4,4-dimethoxytetrahydro-2H-pyran-3-ol has two methoxy (CH3O) groups and a hydroxyl (OH) group attached to the tetrahydropyran ring. DMPY-3-ol is commonly used as a synthetic intermediate in organic chemistry to make various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
