The bis-silylated phosphorane Me3SiNP(Ph2)CH2(Ph2)PNSiMe 3 (1) reacts with WF6, WCl6, SeOCl2 and TeCl4 to form new heterocyclic compounds containing tungsten [NP(Ph2)CH2(Ph2)PNWF4 (2), NP(Ph2)CH2(Ph2)PNWCl4 (3)], selenium [NP(Ph2)CH2(Ph2)PNSeCl2 (5)], and tellurium [NP(Ph2)CH2(Ph2)PNTeCl2 (6)], respectively. The reaction of the unsaturated heterocyclic compound 3 with the base DBU leads to the formation of a conjugated heterocyclic compound, NP(Ph2)CH(Ph2)PNWCl3 (4), through the elimination of DBU·HCl. 1H, 31P, 19F, 77Se, and 125Te NMR spectroscopic investigations confirm the structures of compounds 2-6.
