The present invention discloses a method for preparing a substituted phenol compound, comprising, the phenyl ether (1) is reacted with α- methyl styrene, substituted phenyl ether (2), substituted phenyl ether (2) is acylated and dealkyl reaction, to obtain 1-acetyl-4- (1-methyl-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl) ethyl) benzene (3), the 1-acetyl-4-(1-methyl-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl) benzene (3) is condensed with phenol to obtain a substituted phenol compound (4). R1, R2, R3 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, or combinations thereof. The steric resistance of the R1R2R3 group of phenyl ether (1) is large, and there are very few isomers that replace phenyl ether (2). And the use of one-step method to replace phenyl ether (2) to prepare 1-acetyl-4-(1-methyl-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl) benzene (3), that is, fulkylation and deprotective group reaction in one step to complete, short route, high product purity, three waste less.
