4-ARYLCOUMARIN GLYCOSIDES FROM COUTAREA HEXANDRA

The caulis of Coutarea hexandra was found to contain four new 4-arylcoumarin glycosides: 5-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-7,3',4'-trihydroxy-4-phenylcoumarin; 5-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-7-methoxy-3',4'-dihydroxy-4-phenylcoumarin; 5-O-6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl>-7,3',4'-trihydroxy-4-phenylcoumarin and 5-O-6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl>-7-methoxy-3',4'-dihydroxy-4-phenylcoumarin.The structures were assigned by chemical and spectroscopic methods.Key Word Index-Countarea hexandra; Rubiaceae; 4-arycoumarin glycosides; 1H and 13C NMR, FABMS.
