Facile synthesis of cyclic fluorosiloxanes
Oguri, Naoki,Takeda, Nobuhiro,Unno, Masafumi
, p. 1506 - 1508 (2015)
Novel 1,3,5,7-tetrafluorocyclotetrasiloxanes were synthesized from cyclotetrasiloxanetetraol by a facile synthetic method. By adjusting the amount of the fluorinating reagent, synthesis of a single isomer of 1,3,5,7-tetrafluorocyclotetrasiloxanes as well as the preparation of all four isomers were accomplished. The products are expected to serve as potential precursors to not only well-defined silsesquioxanes but also asymmetric cyclic siloxanes.
A naphthalene benzimidazole-based chemosensor for the colorimetric and on-off fluorescent detection of fluoride ion
Li, Dongmei,Zhong, Zhimin,Zheng, Gengxiu,Tian, Zhongzhen
, p. 173 - 178 (2017)
A novel naphthalene benzimidazole (NBI)-based chemosensor (D2) was developed for fluoride ion (F?) detection. The absorption spectrum of D2 changed dramatically from yellow to blue in the visible region accompanied with a 225?nm red shift of it
Directional Transportation of a Helic[6]arene along a Nonsymmetric Molecular Axle
Zhou, He-Ye,Han, Ying,Shi, Qiang,Chen, Chuan-Feng
, p. 5872 - 5876 (2019)
Directional transportation of a helic[6]arene along a nonsymmetric molecular axle was achieved, which was easily performed in dichloromethane by a stopper reaction and subsequent addition of fluoride ions. In this system, the fluoride ions could act as a versatile stimulus to unidirectionally release the macrocycle that not only destroyed the host-guest interaction but also removed the silyl stopper.
Alkali Metal Salts of Perfluorinated Complex Anions. Effective Reagents for Nucleophilic Fluorination
Farooq, Omar,Tiers, George V. D.
, p. 2122 - 2124 (1994)
Alkali metal salts of perfluorinated complex anions were used to effect halogen-exchange fluorination in organohalosilanes both in the presence and absence of solvent.By the use of salts of perfluorinated "non-nucleophilic" anions in a high-boiling multifunctional etheral solvent, organofluorosilanes have been conveniently prepared in high yields.
A PEGylated fluorescent turn-on sensor for detecting fluoride ions in totally aqueous media and its imaging in live cells
Zheng, Fangyuan,Zeng, Fang,Yu, Changmin,Hou, Xianfeng,Wu, Shuizhu
, p. 936 - 942 (2013)
Owing to the considerable significance of fluoride anions for health and environmental issues, it is of great importance to develop methods that can rapidly, sensitively and selectively detect the fluoride anion in aqueous media and biological samples. He
Selective detection of chemical warfare agents VX and Sarin by the short wavelength inner filter technique (SWIFT)
Redy Keisar, Orit,Pevzner, Alexander,Baheti, Abhishek,Vigalok, Arkadi,Ashkenazi, Nissan
, p. 15040 - 15043 (2020/12/22)
A novel SWIFT-based strategy for fluorimetric detection of practical amounts (minimal effective dose or lower) of chemical warfare agents is reported. This strategy employs readily available reagents and allows distinguishing between the V and G agents, as well as their discrimination from potential interferents. This journal is
Enhanced nucleophilic fluorination and radiofluorination of organosilanes appended with potassium-chelating leaving groups
Al-Huniti, Mohammed H.,Lu, Shuiyu,Pike, Victor W.,Lepore, Salvatore D.
, p. 48 - 52 (2014/01/23)
Here we aimed to explore the feasibility of enhancing the fluorination of organosilanes by appending potassium-chelating groups to the substrates. For this purpose, eight organosilanes were prepared in which a linear or cyclic leaving group, with putative
Silyl fluoride electrophiles for the enantioselective synthesis of silylated pyrrolidine catalysts
Jentzsch, Kaleb I.,Min, Taewoo,Etcheson, Jennifer I.,Fettinger, James C.,Franz, Annaliese K.
experimental part, p. 7065 - 7075 (2011/10/30)
Chiral silylated pyrrolidine catalysts are obtained in high yield and enantioselectivity by sparteine-mediated lithiation of N-Boc-py rolidine and addition to silyl fluoride electrophiles. The activity and enantioselectivity of a new tert-butyldiphenylsilylpyrrolidine catalyst has been demonstrated for various asymmetric Michael reactions at 5 mol% catalyst loading and affords up to 99% ee for asymmetric Michael reactions with aldehydes and nitro-olefins. Acetaldehyde donors proceed with yields up to 77% and enantioselectivities up to 96% ee, avoiding common side reactions that often lower yields. Insight into the mechanism of pyrrolidine-based catalysts is provided by demonstrating ESI mass spectrometry evidence for activation of a nitro acceptor by formation of a hydrogen-bonding adduct with the catalyst amine. Analysis of reaction intermediates using mass spectrometry provides evidence that the pyrrolidine catalyst also plays a role in activating nitro-olefins through hydrogen-bonding.

We have successfully developed a fluoride ion probe for fluorescence cell bioimaging - desirable properties include retention of the fluorophore inside cells, non-cytotoxicity to mammalian cells, appreciable solubility in water, and stoichiometric reactio
A novel, chemoselective and efficient microwave-assisted deprotection of silyl ethers with Selectfluor
Shah, Syed Tasadaque A.,Singh, Surendra,Guiry, Patrick J.
experimental part, p. 2179 - 2182 (2009/07/01)
A novel microwave-assisted, chemoselective and efficient method for the cleavage of silyl ethers (aliphatic and aromatic) catalyzed by Selectfluor is reported. A wide range of TBS-, TIPS-, and TBDPS-protected alkyl silyl ethers can be chemoselectively cleaved in high yield in the presence of aryl silyl ethers. The chemoselective deprotection of phenolic TBS ethers, and not the TIPS- or TBDPS-protected phenolic ethers, and the deprotection of silyl esters were also achieved under these reaction conditions. In addition, the transetherification and etherification of benzylic hydroxy groups in alcoholic solvents is observed.
