General Description

1,3-bis(2-methylpropyl)urea, also known as bupirimate, is a chemical compound commonly used as a fungicide in agricultural settings. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in organic solvents but not in water. Bupirimate works by inhibiting the growth of fungal pathogens and is particularly effective against powdery mildew and other diseases in crops such as grapes, apples, and hops. It is a non-systemic fungicide, meaning it remains on the surface of the plant and does not get absorbed into the plant tissue. Additionally, bupirimate has a low acute toxicity to mammals and is considered to have a low environmental impact.
