General Description

Lead succinate is a chemical compound that is formed by combining lead, a heavy metal, with succinic acid. It is commonly used in industries such as paint and ceramics, as it acts as a stabilizer and pigment. However, lead succinate is highly toxic and can have detrimental effects on human health and the environment. Ingestion or inhalation of lead succinate can lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases, it can cause organ damage or even death. Due to its toxicity, the use of lead succinate in consumer products has been regulated in many countries to minimize exposure and protect public health.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1191-18-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,1,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1191-18:
(6*1)+(5*1)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*1)+(1*8)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 1191-18-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and characterisation of polymeric and oligomeric lead(II) carboxylates

Foreman, Mark R.St.J.,John Plater,Skakle, Janet M.S.

, p. 1897 - 1903 (2007/10/03)

The hydrothermal reactions of lead(II) acetate with carboxylic acids gave solids of composition [Pb(C4H4O4)] 1 (C4H4O4 = succinate); [Pb6O2(C14H9O3)8 ] 2 (C14H9O3 = benzoylbenzoate), [Pb(C8H4NO4)2(H2O)] 4 (C8H4NO4 = 2-nitrobenzoate) and [Pb(C8H3N2O6)2(H2 O)] 5 (C8H3N2O6 = 3,5-dinitrobenzoate). The reaction of lead monoxide with trichloroacetic acid in hot wet toluene followed by filtration and cooling gave a solid of composition [Pb3(C2Cl3O2)6(H2 O)3] 3. The compounds were characterised by X-ray single crystal structure determinations. Compounds 1, 3, 4 and 5 are polymeric whereas 2 is monomeric. The lead co-ordination number ranges from 5 to 8. Compound 2 is a novel hexanuclear lead(II) distorted octahedron containing two bridging oxide ligands.
