121-59-5 Usage
Uses
insecticide, cholinesterase inhibitor
General Description
White powder or solid.
Air & Water Reactions
Slightly soluble in water.
Reactivity Profile
An acidic salt of an amide. Materials in this group are generally soluble in water. The resulting solutions contain moderate concentrations of hydrogen ions and have pH's of less than 7.0. They react as acids to neutralize bases. These neutralizations generate heat, but less or far less than is generated by neutralization of inorganic acids, inorganic oxoacids, and carboxylic acid. They usually do not react as either oxidizing agents or reducing agents but such behavior is not impossible. Many of these compounds catalyze organic reactions.
Fire Hazard
Flash point data for CARBARSONE are not available; however, CARBARSONE is probably combustible.
Safety Profile
Poison by ingestion.
Moderately toxic by intraperitoneal route.
Questionable carcinogen with experimental
tumorigenic data. See also ARSENIC
COMPOUNDS. When heated to
decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of
As and NOx
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 121-59-5 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,2 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 121-59:
(5*1)+(4*2)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*9)=35
35 % 10 = 5
So 121-59-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

-
, (2008/06/13)
A method of formulating a synthetic drug for use in animal feed, for the purpose of reducing carry-over of the synthetic drug to subsequent lots of animal feed in the feed mill.
