A concise and efficient method for 2-pyrazolines

The preparation of 3,3'-bis(2-pyrazolines (2,5) by the cycloaddition of diazomethane to 1,5-diaryl-1,4-pentadien-3-ones (1) or by the step-wise reaction of 1 with hydrazine hydrate and diazomethane or by the condensation of 4-aryl-2-pyrazolin-3-yl styryl ketones (4) with hydrazine hydrate has been described.Spectral data have been correlated to the structures of the new compounds.
