Chelation of Cu(i) ions to an immobilized hydrophilic tris(triazolylmethyl) amine chelator on a solid support allowed synthesis of RNA oligonucleotide conjugates from completely deprotected alkyne-oligonucleotides. No oligonucleotide strand degradation or metal ion contamination was observed.
