1. menthyl anthranilate is the only FDA-approved liquid sunscreen chemical with uVA-absorption capabilities. It has an approved usage level of 3.5 to 5 percent. This is a stable ingredient and can be combined with other sunscreen chemicals to increase SPF while providing uVA protection.
2. Meradimate or menthyl anthranilate is a weak UVB filter and with absorption mainly in the near UVA portion of the spectrum. They are less effective than benzophenones in this range and are less widely used.
3. Menthyl Anthranilate is used as a UV filter in skin care formulations.

General Description

Menthyl anthranilate is a fluorescent agent and a UV filter that can be used as an alternative to oxybenzone. It is majorly used in sunscreen based products. It can be easily mixed in cosmetic oils and can also be emulsified in aqueous formulations.
