Elmorsy, Saad S.,Badawy, Doria S.,Nour, Mohamed A.,Kandeel, Ezzat M.
, p. 417 - 421 (2007/10/02)
A unique, general redox process for the preparation of secondary amides by the interaction, of aldehydes with nitriles in the presence of two equivalents of iodotrichlorosilane (ITCS) is described and possible pathways are discussed. - Keywords: Iodotrichlorosilane, Aldehydes, Nitriles, sec-Amides
Novel synthesis of secondary amides by the interaction of enones and nitriles in the presence of iodotrichlorosilane
Elmorsy, Saad S
, p. 637 - 640 (2007/10/02)
The reaction of enones with acetonitrile or benzonitrile in the presence of iodotrichlorosilane has been studied. The α-iodosilyl ethers of enones undergo addition to the nitriles followed by irreversible redox reaction and hydrolysis to give the corresponding secondary amides.
The Iodotrichlorosilane Induced Reactions of Aromatic Aldehydes with Acrylonitrile: A Unique Route to unsaturated Iminoaldehydes
Elmorsy, Saad S.,Badawy, Duria S,Nour, Mohamed A.,Pelter, Andrew
, p. 5421 - 5422 (2007/10/02)
We describe a unique interaction of aromatic aldehydes with acrylonitrile, induced by iodotrichlorosilane (ITCS), which directly yields arylidene-3-aminoprop-2-enals.
