Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 13985-60-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,9,8 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13985-60:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*5)+(2*6)+(1*0)=129
129 % 10 = 9
So 13985-60-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

KINETICS AND MECHANISM OF THE REACTION OF 2,4,6-TRINITROETHYLBENZENE WITH STRONG AMINES IN POLAR APROTIC SOLVENTS

Jarczewski, Arnold,Zelazna, Maria,Leffek, Kenneth T.

, p. 71 - 78 (2007/10/02)

The reactions of 2,4,6-trinitroethylbenzene (TNEB) with diethylamine (DEA) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent and 1,1',3,3'-tetramethylguanidine (TMG) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvents have been studied with respect to products and kinetics. The proton transfer reaction was observed with insignificant ?-complex formation. The equilibrium constants are large, K=2717 and 497 dm3mol-1 for the reaction of TMG and DEA, respectively. The rate constants are small, kH25=1.3*10-2 and 1.5*10-2 dm3mol-1s-1 for the reaction with TMG and DEA, respectively, and these reactions show large primary deuterium kinetic isotope effects kH/kD=9.1 and 10.The rate constants, activation parameters and primary deuterium kinetic isotope effects are compared to those for proton transfer from trinitrocumene TNC, and trinitroethylbenzene TNEB to tetyramethylguanidine in DMF solvent.

Kinetics and mechanisms of the reaction of 2,4,6-trinitrocumene and 2,4,6-trinitroethylbenzene with 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine in N,N-dimethylformamide solvent

Biswas, Mihir K.,Jarczewski, Arnold,Leffek, Kenneth T.

, p. 1007 - 1011 (2007/10/02)

The reaction of tetramethylguanidine (TMG) with trinitrocumene (TNC) and trinitroethylbenzene (TNEB) in dimethylformamide solvent has been studied with respect to products and kinetics. For TNC only ?-complex formation with the benzene ring was observed, for which the equilirium constant, rate constants, and activation parameters were measured. For TNEB, both ? complex formation and proton transfer from the α-carbon atom of the ethyl group were observed. The equilibrium constants, rate constants, and activation parameters were separately determined for each reaction and a primary deuterium isotope effect, kH/kD = 13.6 (at 20 deg C), was found for the proton transfer. The reaction parameters are compared to those for proton transfer from TNT to tetramethylguanidine in DMF solvent.
