Usage

General Description

Tri-tert-butyl phosphite is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C12H27O3P. It is a phosphite ester, composed of a phosphorus atom bonded to three tert-butyl groups and an O-ethoxy group. Tri-tert-butyl phosphite is primarily used as a stabilizer and antioxidant in polymers and plastics. It inhibits the degradation of the material by capturing and neutralizing free radicals, thus extending the longevity and structural integrity of the products. Additionally, it is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of phosphorus-containing compounds. Tri-tert-butyl phosphite is a flammable and air-sensitive liquid that should be handled with care in a well-ventilated environment.

With only 0.1 mol % catalyst 1f, the reaction proceeded smoothly and produced the corresponding β-amino-α- diazophosphonate with up to 97% yield and >99% ee.
