Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1541176-22-0 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,5,4,1,1,7 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1541176-22:
(9*1)+(8*5)+(7*4)+(6*1)+(5*1)+(4*7)+(3*6)+(2*2)+(1*2)=140
140 % 10 = 0
So 1541176-22-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Photoresponsive smectic liquid crystalline multipods and hyperbranched azo polymers

Nardele, Chinmay G.,Asha

, p. 1670 - 1684 (2014/03/21)

Liquid crystalline azobenzene containing triped and tetraped monomers were designed and synthesized and further used as B3 and B4 type monomers to form hyperbranched polymers with tetraethylene glycol as the A2 type comonomer. The mesophase characteristics of the multiarm-star mesogens and hyperbranched polymers were analyzed using various instrumentation techniques like differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized light microscopy (PLM) and variable temperature XRD. The multipod monomers as well as hyperbranched polymers exhibited thermotropic smectic liquid crystalline characteristics with a tendency toward higher ordered smectic LC phases with increased branching. The hyperbranched polymers exhibited lamellar organization even in the as-solvent precipitated powder sample indicating higher extent of nanosegregation. Their potential application as fast switching photochromic materials was highlighted by carrying out isothermal photoswitching experiments in the LC state. Reversible isothermal smectic-isotropic phase transition could be achieved by UV irradiation in 2 s UV irradiation in the case of the hyperbranched polymers. ? 2014 American Chemical Society.
