Crystal structure and magnetic properties of a new oxo-centred basic benzoate bridging heterotrinuclear compound [Cr2MnO(PhCOO)6Py3][CrO3Cl]

A new oxo-centred heterotrinuclear complex [Cr2MnO(PhCOO)6Py3][CrO3Cl] was synthesized, which exhibited weak antiferromagnetic interaction between three atoms CrIII, CrIII and MnIII. The J values for CrIII-MnIII and CrIII-CrIII have been estimated; the central O atom provides the main superexchange pathway. It indicated that the distance of M-(μ3-O) is an important factor for metal-metal superexchange interaction. Copyright
