16459-05-5 Usage
General Description
1H-Benzimidazole, 1-[(4-chlorophenoxy)acetyl]-, also known as albendazole, is a benzimidazole drug used as an anthelmintic or anti-parasitic medication. It is commonly used to treat a variety of parasitic infections, including those caused by worms such as roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms. Albendazole works by inhibiting the uptake of glucose and causing a depletion of energy in the parasites, ultimately leading to their death. It is available as a tablet or suspension for oral administration and is generally well-tolerated with few side effects. Albendazole is considered an essential medicine by the World Health Organization and is widely used in both human and veterinary medicine to combat parasitic infections.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 16459-05-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,4,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16459-05:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*4)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*5)=115
115 % 10 = 5
So 16459-05-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
